The Presidential Commission to investigate Serious Corruption and Fraud has informed Retired Major General Gamini Jayasundara to give explanations over giving false evidence, if legal is not to be taken over the matter.

Secretary of the Commission Lasil De Silva stated that, the Retired Major General who is the General Manager of the Rakna Lanka Security Firm had confessed that false evidence was given.

The Presidential Commission to investigate Serious Corruption and Fraud questioned Former Defense Secretary over the Rakna Lanka Firm for 6 hours yesterday.

Gota questioned for 6 hours today; summoned again on 17th and 18th

Several persons including former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa were questioned by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Large Scale Fraud and Corruption today as well.

The group appeared before the commission yesterday as well, following a complaint made with regard to Rakna Lanka Company.

A statement was recorded from Gotabhaya Rajapaksa for over 4.5 hours today. 

A statement for over 6 hours was recorded when Gotabhaya Rajapaksa appeared before the commission on August 24th.

Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa has been summoned to the commission again on September 17th and 18th.

The first charge is for utilizing 500 workers attached to Rakna Lanka Company for campaign activities during the past Presidential election.

The second charge is for the replacement of the vacant posts with Civil Security force personnel and hiring weapons belonging to the company.
