Nimal Siripala and Mahinda Amaraweera talk about Resigning

Both Nimal Siripala and Mahinda Amaraweera talk about resigning from their posts.

Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Fisheries and Water Resources says that, he would resign from his post if the cabinet would enter on a policy to transform the Mattala International Airport to a paddy store.

Chairman of the Paddy Marketing Board M B Dissanayake says that 1 002 000 metric tons of paddy has already been bought by the government. The Chairman also mentioned that the Mattala airport has been used to store 5000 metric tons of paddy, according to the necessity which has arisen.

Meanwhile an elephant had attacked a store in Amapara-Damana-Thottama belonging to the Paddy Marketing Board this morning on two occasions.  A guard said that the roof and the front door of the store was damaged by the attack. However the locals have chased the elephant away with gunshots.

Also Transport minister Nimal Siripala De Silva mentioned at a discussion with a few railway employees that he will honorably resign if a privatization of government property will take place.
