The Kegalle District Secretariat has issued the final letter asking UPFA former Senior Minister Athauda Seneviratne to return the official quarters he used for over 17 years.
District Secretary of Kegalle Gamini Seneviratne told our news team the former Minister was informed with regard to the matter in writing as well as over the phone.
The ex-Minister was informed under the instruction of the Public Administration Ministry.
This quarters located adjacent to the Secretariat building, and the property belonging to the District Secretariat has been used by the ex-Minister Athauda Seneviratne for several years.
The District Secretariat has informed the ex-Minister to return the property on several occasions, but the former senior Minister had given various excuses.
However, Kegalle District Secretary Gamini Seneviratne said that the final notice has been issued asking the former Minister Athauda Seneviratne to return the property before the end of this month.
He also said that legal action would be instated if the ex-Minister does not return the property on time.
When our news team contacted former Senior Minister Athauda Seneviratne, he stated that he has leased out the particular quarters at the time he was functioning as the Chief Minister of Sabaragamuwa Province.
