Evidence challenging the idea that the rural and urban lifestyle in Sri Lanka commenced following the arrival of foreign migrants has been found from the Lunugalgeya cave in Ilukkumbura in Balangoda.
Professor Raj Somadewa of the Postgraduate Institute of the Kelaniya University has established this, following excavations carried out in the cave for over a week.
Meanwhile, the Archaeological Department further stated that 26 more caves have been found from Nuwarakanda in Wariyapola with creative sculptures.
