Solution for the problem of lack of canteens

Minister of Transport Nimal Siripala de Silva participating in an observation tour of the Fort Railway Station has instructed officials to take initiative to upgrade the infrastructure facilities in the main railway stations including the Fort Railway station.

The cafeterias in several railway stations including the Fort Railway Station have been closed since several months due to problems related to calling for bids.

Also the cafeteria service in the train is not in operation currently.

Therefore passengers have no other option than to buy food and water bottles from the vendors of which the hygienic condition is doubtful.
