The new ministers of the Western and the North Western Provincial Councils were sworn in this morning before President Maithripala Sirisena at the latter’s official residence.

Accordingly, Western Provincial Chief Minister Isuru Devapriya took oaths as the Provincial Minister of Provincial Finance, Strategic Engineering Services, Law and Order, Local Government, Local Administration, Environment, Energy and Tourism.

Ranjith Somawansa took oaths as the Provincial Minister of Education, Cultural and Sports, Youth Affairs and Information Technology while Gamini Thilakasiri took oaths as the Provincial Minister of Agriculture, Land, Irrigation, Livestock Development, Health and Agrarian Development.

Lalith Wanigarathna took oath as the minister of Western Provincial Fisheries, Road and Transport, Cooperative Development, Housing, Industry and Rural Development while Nishantha Sri Warnasingha took oaths as the Minister of Western Provincial Health, Indigenous Medicine, Social Welfare, Child Protection and Women’s Affairs.

However, former Western Provincial Minister Upali Kodikara has not been offered any ministerial position this time.

At the same time, North Western Chief Minister Dharmasiri Dasanayake took oaths as the Minister Of Provincial Finance, Strategic Development, Engineering Service, Law and Order, Provincial Economic Development, Power, Environment, Water Supply and Tourism.

Gunadasa Dehigama took oaths as the Minister Of Provincial Road And Transport, Cooperative, Trade, Housing, Construction Industry and Rural Development while Sandya Kumara Rajapaksa took oaths as the Minister of Provincial Education, Cultural Sports, Youth Affairs and Information Technology.

Lakshman Harishchandra took oaths as the Minister of Provincial Health and Indigenous Medicine, Social Welfare, Women Affairs while W.J. Sumal Tisera took oath as the Minister of Provincial Agriculture, Land, Irrigation, Fisheries, Livestock Development, Health and Agrarian Development.
