The tree which collapsed onto the road near St. Bridget’s Convent at Mateland Place, Colombo 7 last midnight has been already removed. The police says that the tree had collapsed due to strong winds which accompanied heavy rain. No traffic was disrupted since the incident occurred at midnight.

Also another wayside tree branch collapsed onto a car parked beside Bauddaloka Mw near Thurston Grounds yesterday and damaged two vehicles including the car.
