Military spokesman Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera states that the military investigations regarding the Rathupaswala incident will be carried out further. The taking down of the synopsis of evidence following the court directive received is still ongoing. The magistrate investigation as to the Rathupaswala incident will be taken for hearing again on next 6th November.

The Military Spokesman says that an investigation court was established in accordance with the military law following the Rathupaswala incident on 1st August 2013. Military spokesman Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera added that the military personnel in question will be brought before the Court Marshal if powerful evidence exists against them after the evidence synopsis report was received.

Meanwhile a complaint was received by the CID yesterday regarding the protest which followed the water problem of Rathupaswala, to the effect that Brigadier Deshapriya Gunawardena who gave the directive to shoot at the protest should be apprehended.

The Chief Incumbent of Haloluva Sri Sambuddha Jayanathi Vihara Theripehe Siridhamma too initiated a hunger strike before the Buddha statue located in front of the entrance terminal of the Katunayake Airport in the morning of 15th, urging the apprehension of the Brigadier involved with the shooting incident. Brigadier Deshapriya Gunawardena who is said to have given the directive to shoot at the Rathupaswala protest returned to Sri Lanka from Turkey on the 15th
