A group of persons including former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa reported to the special Presidential Commission of Inquiry on Massive Fraud and corruption this morning in order to give statements in connection with Rakna Lanka Company.
The Commission Secretary Lacil de Silva told our news team that one of the charges against the group including Gotabhaya is assigning 500 workers attached to the Rakna Lanka Company to carry out propaganda campaign for former president Mahinda Rajapaksa during the last presidential election.
He said another charge against the group is recruiting 150 officers of the Civil Defence Force and provide them with a separate uniform, and hiring of firearms of Rakna Lanka Company.
The group including Gotabhaya Rajapaksa appeared before the commission for the third time today.
Secretary of the special Presidential Commission of Inquiry on Massive Fraud and corruption Lacil de Silva further said that an opportunity has been arranged for the general public to make evidence in connection with this incident.
He also said the opportunity is open for media as well.
The group including Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is noticed to appear before the commission tomorrow as well.
