Sri Lanka prepares to get ban on fisheries products to EU lifted

Fisheries Director General Christie Lal Fernando says that the government is taking steps to get the ban imposed on fisheries products exports to the European Union lifted.

He stated that they expected to get the ban lifted before the 31st of October.

Speaking further he stated that it was not feasible to send large vessels as requested by the EU.

Meanwhile, Fisheries Associations in the North have rejected invitations for discussions from Indian Fisheries Associations stated that government intervention was necessary.
