Reconciliation only through a local mechanism; says Prime Minister
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that a repetition of the past mistakes cannot be allowed in the country.
He said the problems should be solved after a compromising dialogue among all factions.
The Premier stated this while making a special statement on the prevailing situation of the UNHRC in Geneva.
The Premier also said that all affairs with regard to reconciliation including a political solution would be achieved through a local mechanism.
The Prime Minister also said that the United States would discuss the matter with the other countries and submit a positive report on Sri Lanka in the next session of the Geneva Human Rights Commission.
