Former president and current parliamentarian Mahinda Rajapaksa has been summoned to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources, and Privileges today.

A spokesperson of the commission stated that a group of officials will visit former President Rajapaksa’s Mirihana house to obtain a statement at 10.00 am today.

The former President has thus been summoned for investigations carried out with regard to non-payment of money relevant to advertisements telecast through a state media institution during the Presidential election.

Former Media Minister Keheliya Rabukwella, former Secretary to the President Lalith Weerathunga and former secretary to the ministry of finance P B Jayasundara were also summoned before the commission.
