The Deputy Secretary General of Parliament Neel Iddawala says it has been decided to arrange the seating in Parliament according to the seniority.
He said several leaders of different political parties of the government as well as the Opposition would be offered seating in the front.
The Parliament is to meet today for the first time after the Cabinet was sworn in.
However the President, the Prime Minister, the Opposition Leader, the Leader of the House, the Chief Government Whip, the Deputy Speaker and the Chairman of Committees would be customarily offered the standard seating in Parliament.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa would also function as an MP in new Parliament, and he has been offered the 9th seat of the first row.
It is the seat next to Opposition Leader R. Sampandan.
Former Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa has been offered the 10th seat.
Chief Opposition Whips and JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake has been offered 4th seat of the first row.
Political party leaders Wimal Weerawansa, Dinesh Gunawardana and Wasudeva Nanayakkara, though their parties are not among the 6 recognized parties, have been offered seating in the first row according to their seniority.
