The officers of the special presidential commission of inquiry on massive scale fraud and corruption visited former president Mahinda Rajapaksa to record a statement.

Our correspondent stated that the commission officials visited former president Rajapaksa at his residence at Mirihana, Nugegoda at 5 o’clock this afternoon.

Former president Rajapaksa was informed in writing on September 17th to appear before the Special Commission of Inquiry on Mass scale fraud and corruption in order to record a statement with regard to non-payment of fees to a state media institution for advertising during the last presidential election.

Later Commission Secretary Lacil de Silva said that it was decided to visit the former president’s residence in Mirihana this morning to record the statement.

However the commission was informed by the former president’s faction to record the statement in the afternoon.

Secretary of the Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry Lacil de Silva said that three of his officials left at 4.30 this afternoon to former president Rajapaksa’s Mirihana house.
