Due to the adverse weather condition water levels of Nilwala, Kalu and GING rivers have reached spill level.

Meanwhile many low lying areas in Galle, Mathara and Kaluthara districts are inundated due to heavy showers.

The Disaster Management Centre sated that if showers continue, Badulla, Kegalle, Ratnapura, Kalutara, Galle, Matara and Hambanthota may experience landslides and earth-slips.

Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippili expressed these views.

Meanwhile, the funerals of the 7 people who died in the landslide in Lilies Land estate in Ramboda recently were held today.

In the meantime, the MET Department stated that showers may continue in several areas due to the turbulent atmospheric conditions.
