Former MP Sajin Vass Gunawardana has expressed his willingness to provide evidence for the prosecution during the hearing of lawsuits related to fraud and corruption said to have occurred in the regime of former President Mahinda Rajapakse. Sources conveyed that he is ready to act as a state deponent.

Former MP Sajin Vass Gunawardana who was under remand for over 4 months was released on bail on last 23rd when the petition requesting him bail was taken into hearing before the High Court. Former MP Sajin Vass Gunawardana was released on a monetary bail of Rs10 000k and two personal bonds of 200 000 000k each. Also the Justice stated that he must show himself before the CID once a month and that any hindrance to the investigations on his side will lead to an immediate cancellation of his bail.
The former MP who was alleged for the misappropriation of 23 vehicles belonging to the Presidential Secretariat was apprehended on 11th, May.
