Student and the father of one who were accused of Kotadeniyawa murder released
The 17-year old student and the father of one accused of Kotadeniyawa murder was released by Court today after the DNA tests did not match.
However the main suspect of the murder of the Kotadeniyawa girl, Dunesh Priyashantha alias Kondaya has been remanded until October 5th.
Head of the team of lawyers appeared on behalf of the student, Nimal Ranasinghe expressed his views to our news team about the case heard today by the Minuwangoda Magistrate Court.
He said Kotadeniyawa police followed an incorrect procedure to arrest the student.
However Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province Pujitha Jayasundera stated during a media conference convened with regard to the arrest of the 17-year old student that the police did not want to harass or make false charges against anybody.
Meanwhile, after the arrest, the mother of the student questioned who would be held responsible for the disgrace that befell on her son.
