Former President, Parliamentarian Mahinda Rajapaksa says that although some attempt to portray the passing of the US resolution on Sri Lanka without a vote as a diplomatic victory, he doesn’t agree with it.
Issuing a communiqué the Former President stated that the mechanism proposed to investigate alleged human rights violations it requires the involvement of foreign judges and investigators.
The Former President’s statement also speaks of the GSP Plus concession and the ban on Fisheries products to the European Union.
The communiqué issued by Former President, Parliamentarian Mahinda Rajapaksa also clarified on the photographs showing him seated with Former Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi.
He said that during the final stages of the war, foreign reserves of the country decreased significantly and with one phone call, the Libyan leader agreed to provide a loan of 500 Million US Dollars.
The Former President said that if not for that the economy may have collapsed if not for that, before ending the war.
