The Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the government expects the assistance of Japan to hold a summit for the social and economic development of the areas which were hit by crises in the past.
Addressing the Parliament of Japan this morning, Premier Wickremesinghe said the assistance of Japan is sought by Sri Lanka in her efforts to bring reconciliation and peace to the country.
Prime Minister Wickremesinghe has been privileged to be the third foreign leader to address a session of Parliamentarian in Japan.
He further said that new avenues for Japanese investors have been opened in Sri Lanka as the country has entered a new path of politics.
Before inviting Premier Wickremesinghe to address the session, Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe has stated in his prelude that Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was a close friend of Japan.
