President Maitripala Sirisena said that it was the doctors’ responsibility to properly fulfill their duty on behalf of the people.
That was while participating at a function held yesterday in Colombo for inaugurating a three-day workshop for medical interns.
On this occasion the President said that it was the responsibility of doctors to offer their services for the people living in remote areas.
President said doctors should ask their conscience whether it was a good thing to resort to strikes for assigning hospital wards or staff.
Administration and management issues should not be made a hindrance to serving the people.
The President said further on this occasion that therefore the doctors should understand the importance of performing their service.
