Former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was present at the Presidential Commission for Investigations on Serious Fraud and Corruption today to produce a statement regarding the Rakna Lanka incident.
9 people involving Gotabhaya Rajapaksa were called today to obtain further statements about Rakna Lanka. Yet Lacil De Silva, the Commission’s Secretary said that only a few including the former Defense Secretary were present at the Commission today.
Former Defense Secretary showed himself at the Commission on several occasions earlier.
Meanwhile the hearing of the fundamental rights petition filed by former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to the effect that an order be issued to prevent his apprehension by the FCID, was postponed by the Supreme Court the day before yesterday (6th). As the respective lawsuit was taken into hearing the panel of three judges including Chief Justice K. Sri Pavan resolved to take the petition into hearing on the 28th of January next year.
The former Defense Secretary had filed this fundamental rights petition before the Supreme Court requesting to prevent an unjust and unreasonable apprehension of him.
