It was heard last 24th about a farther of two who jumped into the River Niwala from the Mahanama Bridge of Matara. The two girls were rescued by the Gemunuheva Battalion, and the 40 year old father’s was found after a day.
His wife filed a case against the Magistrate Court of Matara on last 5th claiming her suspicion that the death is not a suicide. The wife points out that an extraordinary condition was displayed on her husband’s body. Her complaint stated that his teeth were broken, face injured and blood was seen. The court had extended orders to exhume the body according to the complaint. Accordingly the body was exhumed today (9th) before the Magistrate of Galle.
The body was buried in Bussa, Galle, which is the original locality of the wife. They had lived earlier in Dikwella, Galle.
As the body which was wrapped in polythene was exhumed it was found rotten.
As the head pat was opened the wife and the mother had identified the body.
The magistrate of Galle had ordered the Judiciary Medical officer of Karapitiya to produce a report on the body, which was sent to the Karapitiya hospital.
