Consumer authorities demand details of sub-standard food trafficking

Consumer authorities demand information from the public of vendors who sell food products violating the consumer rights.

The consumers are requested to inform the concerned authority of any irregularity in imported products, such as exclusion of price, date of manufacture, suppliers’ name.

The consumer rights officials has seized such food items in Dehiwala which were imported from England (UK), United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Distributers of the above food products were produced before the Mt -Lavinia Courts and fined.
