Tamil National Alliance Parliamentarian M A Sumanthiran requests the government to take steps to ensure a ban on bottom trawling by Indian fishermen, as it harms the country’s aquatic resources.

An adjournment debate was also held in Parliament yesterday over the Indo Sri Lanka fishermen’s issue.

Meanwhile, State Minister of Fisheries Dilip Vedarachchi stated that an all party committee will be appointed to address the issue.
