Showers exceeding 100 mm expected in several areas tonight; landslide warning for 7 districts still in place

The MET Department stated that thundershowers will occur over most places in the Central, Uva, Sabaragamuwa, Western and Southern provinces.

Heavy falls about 100mm are also likely at some places.

Meanwhile, the National Building Research Organization stated that the landslide warning issued on 7 districts continues to be in effect.

Head of the Landslide Studies Unit at the Organization R M S Bandara stated that Badulla, Nuwara-eliya, Kandy, Kegalle, Kalutara, Ratnapura and Matara face a risk of earth slips and landslides.
