The Magistrate of Minuwangoda D.A. Ruwan Pathirana ordered today to release Dunesh Priyashantha alias Kondaya from the Seya Sadevmi murder case.
Kondaya and his elder brother Saman Jayalath were produced before the court by the CID when the case was taken before the Magistrate, this morning.
Although Kondaya was released from the Kotadeniyawa murder case, he was further remanded in connection with several other warrants issued by other courts.
Accordingly, Kondaya would be produced before the Attanagalla Magistrate Court tomorrow and the Gampaha Court on Wednesday.
At the same time, the Magistrate further remanded Saman Jayalath, the main suspect of Seya murder, until the 2nd of November.
Earlier, the Court announced that DNA samples of the unfamiliar genetic material found on the victim’s body did not match the samples taken from Kondaya.
However, on the 4th of October, the Court found that the DNA samples of the unfamiliar genetic material found on the victim’s body matched the samples taken from the main suspect Saman Jayalath.
Previously, a 17-year old student and a father of one were remanded in connection with the Kotadeniyawa murder, and they were released after their DNA samples did not match with the genetic samples found on the body of the victim.
