The Appeals Court granted permission to name the Army Commander and the Head of the Intelligence Unit, as respondents of the habeascopus petition filed by the wife of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda today.

In this habeascopus petition, Eknaligoda’s wife requested the Appeals Court to order the respective party to produce Eknaligoda before the Court if he is in their custody.

The lawyers who appeared on behalf of Eknaligoda’s wife requested the Court today to name the Army Commander and the Head of Intelligence Unit as respondents of the petition.

Having permitted this request, the Court informed the respondents to appear before Court on the 30th of October.
