Geneva resolution has allowed foreign elements to interfere in internal affairs; Charges joint opposition at Colombo Peoples summit
The Democratic Left Front leader and MP Wasudeva Nanayakkara says that the right to settle the national issue has been handed over to foreign elements through the US resolution adopted by UNHRC.
Addressing a public rally organized by the Joint Opposition in Colombo today, MP Nanayakkara said the so called resolution has commanded on the activities of the Sri Lankan security forces.
The Join Opposition has organized the rally under the theme “The public rally against the hybrid war crime court to betray national freedom” at the open theatre of Viharamaha devi Park.
Several political party members including SLFP MPs who represent the Opposition, MEP, Lanka Samasamaja Party, Communist Party, NFF and Pivituru Hela Urumaya participated.
Our correspondent stated that among the MPs present were: Wimal Weerawansa, Dinesh Gunawardana, Tissa Vitharana, D.E.W. Gunasekera, Chandrasiri Gajadheera, Dallas Alahapperuma, Bandula Gunawardana, Namal Rajapaksa, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Johnston Fernando, Rohitha Abeygunawardana, Vidura Wickramanayake, Salinda Dissanayake, Ranjith Soyza, Geetha Kumarasinghe and Kumara Welgama.
