The Udalagama and Paranagama commission reports as well as the UN Human Rights report were presented before the Parliament today by Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe.

At this juncture, MEP leader Dinesh Gunawardana enquired the Premier about the U.S. Report which was co-sponsored by Sri Lanka.

The Udalagama Commission was appointed by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in 2006 to probe 16 assassinations that took place during war.

The Maxwell Paranagama Commission was appointed in 2013 to probe the missing persons.

The Udalagama Commission report was handed over to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa in 2009 but it was not publicized.

Meanwhile, 16 assassinations including the murder of former Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar, the murder of 17 relief workers in Muttur, the murder of TNA MP Joseph Pararajasingham, the murder of 68 civilians at Kebitigollewa and the murder of 98 security forces personnel in Digampatana were probed under the Nissanka Udalagama Commission.

The Maxwell Paranagama Commission was tasked to probe whether international human rights were violated during the last phase of the war.

The Maxwell Paranagama Commission Report was handed over to President Maithreepala Sirisena recently.
