The political parties that represent the Joint Opposition are scheduled to participate in the all party conference to be held today under the patronage of the President.
The All party Conference to enquire the opinions of political parties on the policy that should be followed by the government with regard to the Geneva resolution is scheduled to be held this afternoon at the Presidential Secretariat.
Presidential Media Unit stated that representatives of 21 political parties including Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Opposition Leader R. Sampandan have been invited to this conference.
Three representatives including the general secretary of each political party have the opportunity to participate in the conference.
JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva said that his party too would participate in the conference this afternoon.
Meanwhile TNA Leader R. Sampandan confirmed that his party would also participate in the all party conference this afternoon. Representatives of the all four coalitions of the TNA would join him in the conference.
In addition, 8 political parties which represent parliament under the UNP symbol would participate in the conference. Besides the SLFP, EPDP would also participate in the conference.
The Presidential Media Unit stated although Lanka Samasamaja Party and Democratic Party do not represent parliament, the party leaders Dr. Tissa Vitharana and Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka are also scheduled to be participate in the all party conference this afternoon.
