The president has requested the all – party conference to submit within two weeks the views of the political parties on the Geneva Resolutions.
The Presidential Media Division said that the parties that participated in the conference had expressed their consensus to do so.
The all-party conference seeking the views of party leaders on the way the Government should act with regard to the Geneva Resolution was held at the Presidential Secretariat last afternoon.
At this conference there was common consensus to hold this all – party conference in the future as well.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Opposition Leader R. Sampandan and representatives of 21 political parties’ representing the parliament participated in the All Party conference.
Three representatives including the general secretary of each political party had the opportunity to participate in the conference.
In addition, representatives from JVP, SLMC and EPDP also joined the All Party Conference.
Although Lanka Samasamaja Party and Democratic Party do not represent parliament, the party leaders Dr. Tissa Vitharana and Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka also joined the all party conference.
