The adjourning debate on the US resolution presented to UNHRC on Sri Lanka, Udalagama and Paranagama Commission reports was held in parliament for the second day today.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was scheduled 4th in the list to speak on the debate today.
However MP Dallas Alahapperuma, during his speech quoted Minister Sarath Amunugama as saying that the former president would not participate in the debate.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Ajith P Perera said that former president Mahinda Rajapaksa did not turn out to parliament today as he has reached the same stance to that of the government.
He said therefore the former president did not turn out to parliament today to participate in the debate on the UNHRC resolution for Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, The JVP leader and Chief Whip of the Opposition Anura Kumara Dissanayake told in parliament today that he has no confidence in the judiciary system of Sri Lanka.
He stated this while participating in the parliament adjourning debate of the second day.
