Due to incessant showers sluice gates of the Rajanganaya reservoir and the Veheragala reservoir have been opened.

The disaster management centre advised the public residing in low lying areas near Kala Oya and Manik River to be vigilant as the water levels have risen.

The met department states that under the influence of an atmospheric disturbance, showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island andsea area around the island.

Heavy rain falls more than 100 mili meters are also expected at some places.

However, prevailing weather will slightly reduce after tomorrow.
