The Met Department is forecasting that showers will continue in several parts of the country, due to a persisting atmospheric disturbance.

Rainfall of more than 100mm is expected over certain parts of the country. Sluice gates of a number of reservoirs are being opened due to the persisting rainy weather conditions.

In the meantime, so called red rain reported at the Ambalanthota-Siyambalagaswila area in Hambanthota district yesterday (25). 

Disaster Management Center reports the residents of Ambalanthota –Siyabalagaswila south residents informed of red rainfall in the area
