Appeal to reduce Pass marks to be considered by the education ministry

The Lanka teachers union called a media brief and appealed the Education Ministry to bring down the pass mark set for the year five scholarships.

The education ministry secretary W.M.Bandusena has stated the requests to reduce the pass marks for the year five scholarship will be considered.

The secretary stated the information regarding the above has been revealed by the media. The Lanka teacher service union secretary and JVP western provincial council member Mahinda Jayasinghe stated that the current pass mark of 160 has to be reduced by at least 6 marks and is expecting to file a complaint at the human rights commission if the ministry fails to comply with this request.

Hiru news effort to contact the examiner commissioner general W.M.N.J.Pushpakumarage in this regard to have been futile since he did not answer his phone when contacted.
