UN ready to move ahead with Sri Lanka towards a common objective
The United Nations says that they are willing to work with Sri Lanka towards common objectives such as Sri Lanka’s development and stability.
The UN expressed these sentiments in a post evaluation of UN Assistant Secretary Miroslav Jenka’s recent visit to Sri Lanka.
UN Assistant Secretary during his visit met with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera, Opposition Leader R Sambanthan, Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapaksa as well as Governors of the North and East.
The Communiqué issued stated that the UN Assistant Secretary had discussed regarding Sri Lanka’s democratic and rehabilitation process.
Discussions had also been held on Political Solutions, Accountability and special needs.
