A restraining order was issued today on the Immigration and Emigration Controller to prevent the mastermind of the murder of Karate Wasantha from leaving the country.
Anuradhapura Chief Magistrate Shanaka Kalansuriya also ordered the Immigration and Emigration Controller to prevent the main murder suspect Eron Ranasinghe from leaving the country through Katunayake International Airport or any other air port.
The restraining order was issued by the Court after considering the submissions provided to the court by the Anuradhapura Police Headquarters.
The main suspect of the murder, a resident of Technical place of Dahaiyagama in Anuradhapura has fled the area after the crime.
The main suspect Eron Ranasinghe is an ex soldier who deserted the Army Special Forces Unit.
Meanwhile a seaman has also been arrested in connection with the Karate Wasantha murder this afternoon.
Police have arrested 22 suspects including the seaman in connection with the murder.
At the same time, a senior police officer engaged in the investigations told our news team that 61 objects that had been used in the murder of Karate Wasantha were produced before Court and, on a Court order; all such objects have later been sent to the Government Analyst and to the Genetech institute for further testing.

Eight more arrested in connection with karate Wasantha's murder
Anuradhapura District Magistrate Nadeeka D.Piyarathna ordered today (29) to remand the 8 suspects who were arrested today in connection with karate Wasantha murder case till November 9th.
The suspects were remanded after being produced before the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital Special Courts Health Officer.
The judge ordered to apprehend the rest of the absconding suspects in connection with the murder.
20 persons including two Navy personals have been arrested and remanded so far in connection with the Night Club owner Karate Wasantha’s murder.
