Due to incessant showers experienced in the Rajarata area water levels in many rivers and reservoirs have risen.

The Irrigation Department stated that sluice gates of the Kala Wawa and Rajanganaya wawa have been opened.

Meanwhile water levels of Thisa Wawa, Nuwara Wawa, Basawakulama wawa and Nachchaduwa wawa have also risen.

The met department states the Atmospheric conditions are still favorable for thundershowers.

Showers or Thundershowers will be fairly widespread particularly during the afternoon and night.

Fairly heavy falls about 100 mili meters are also likely at some places.

Duty Meteorologist Srimal Herath stated that there may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
