President condoles on Russian plane crash in Egypt

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has condoled the Russian President Vladimir Putin on the crash of a Russian aircraft in Egypt yesterday.

The President In the condolence message said that he was deeply saddened by the loss of 224 Russian passengers including 17 children in the crash of the Metrojet Airbus over the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.

"The government and people of Sri Lanka join me in expressing their condolence to the Russian government, the people of Russia and relatives of the victims. On this sad occasion, all Sri Lankans will share the grief with the people of Russia," the President's message added.
