Thailand warmly welcomes President Maithripala Sirisena
President Maithripala Sirisena who left for Thailand today for a four day state visit on an invitation extended by the Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayut Chan-o-cha arrived in Thailand short while ago.
The Sri Lankan President is invited to participate in the ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relationship between Sri Lanka and Thailand.
President Sirisena was received in audience by Crown Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
During this visit, the President will hold discussions with Princess of Thailand and the Prime Minister of Thailand.
The discussions will focus on strengthening of Buddhist relationships between the two countries.
President Sirisena will also declare open the exposition of Sarvagna dhathu from Mahiyangana Rajamaha Viharaya, in Buddhamanthan Temple in Thailand on November 03rd.
A ceremony to place special Samadhi Buddha Statue offered from Sri Lanka to Thailand, in Dharmarama Temple in Thailand will be held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
