The joint opposition – says the government abstain from taking the responsibility of the police assaulting the HNDA students. Addressing a media brief held at Colombo peoples united front (PUF) Leader Parliamentarian Dinesh Gunawardena stated that the government is abstaining from taking the responsibility on the assault under the guise of appointing various committees.

The National Freedom Front (NFF) Leader Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa stated at the media brief that the parliament has become like a stage show.

The following also participated at the media brief democratic leftist front’ s leader parliamentarian Wasudeva Nanayakkara, Lanka Socialist Party General Secretary Tissa Witharana, United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Bandula Gunawardena and former Foreign Minister G.L.Peiris.
