Higher Education Minister is lying, charge HNDA students after meeting with the committee appointed by the Minister
The Students who are following the Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and their teachers were called to the University Grants Commission today.
They were called by the committee appointed by Higher Education Minister in order to make recommendations to settle the problems faced by the students.
The committee appointed by the minister was chaired by the Vice Chairman of the University Grants Commission Professor P.C.M. Gunarathnage.
It includes two other senior secretaries attached to the Higher Education Ministry.
The students and the teachers put their cause before the committee separately.
However, the representatives of the Inter University Students Federation were not allowed to participate in the meeting.
After the discussion with the committee members, president of the HNDA students’ collective Dhammika Ruwan Kumara told our news team, although the minister stated that the problem was solved, his statement was proved a lie during the meeting today.
Speaking to our news team, committee chairman Professor Gunarathnage said that taking a final decision on the issue is up to the Cabinet.
