Government to Prioritize Resettlement of IDP's - President
President Maithripala Sirisena said the government gives priority to the resettlement process for the displaced persons in the North and the East and stressed the need to provide solutions to the matters regarding resettlement.
At a special discussion held yesterday at the Presidential Secretariat, the president spoke on the Northern and Eastern resettlement program.
He instructed that the relevant officials give priority to practical issues pertaining to the process.
Meeting with the relevant ministers and government officials, the president gave instructions to schedule a meeting with the Resettlement Committee.
This committee would comprise of the Governors of Northern and Eastern provinces.
The meeting will take place within the next two weeks and will focus on matters pertaining to each area.
