129 LTTE suspects detained in four prisons responsible for the launch of a hunger strike have temporarily suspended their action this morning.
Earlier, a section of the LTTE detainees were released on bail and the government pledged to rehabilitate another group.
This decision was made during a meeting held at Temple Trees yesterday by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and a group of TNA MPs along with the Northern Provincial Chief Minister.
Prison Commissioner General Rohana Pushpakumara stated that the suspects of the Welikada Magazine Prison, Anuradhapura, Dumbara and Batticaloa prisons have suspended their hunger strike temporarily.
Meanwhile the 39 LTTE suspects, who were in remand prison, have been released on bail.
Meanwhile TNA MP M.A. Sumandiran said that an ultimatum has been given to the government.
They have until December 15 to make a decision regarding other LTTE suspects.
