European Union’s (EU) senior adviser for fisheries affairs Caesar Deban has stated that his group appreciates the progress of the steps implemented by the fisheries ministry to lift the ban on Sri Lanka for exporting fish imposed by the European Union.

The fisheries minister Mahinda Amaraweera stated that the representatives of the European Union who have come to the Island had met him yesterday and stated the above.

The minister further stated that we can expect a positive approach in the future regarding the ban on exporting   fish.
