Astronomy Explorer and Scientist Keerthi Wickramaratna states that a colorful light ring around the moon indicates possibilities of rainy weather along with storms in the future.

It was reported that a light ring similar to a rainbow was to be seen around the moon during the last few nights.

It is further reported that in many areas the above was clearly visible in between 7 to 10 in the night.

When Hiru queried regarding the above from Astronomer Keerthi Wickramaratna he stated that this was visible in instances when water vapor content was high in the atmosphere.
