The suspect arrested and remanded over unruly behaviour at the Ragama Railway Station on Monday night will be produced before Court once again today.
The Negombo Magistrate’s Court ordered the suspect to be remanded till today after he was produced before Court yesterday.
Police said the suspect is a resident of Kegalle. A tense situation was reported among commuters on Monday night during a train delay at the Ragama Station.
A train engine driver informed police that he was assaulted by commuters who claimed he was under the influence at the time.
However a medical examination revealed that the driver was in fact suffering from high blood pressure.
Statements have been recorded from six persons including the Ragama station master and the assistant on board the train.
