The Colombo Additional Magistrate Nirosha Fernando ordered today to further remand the OIC of the Crime Division of Narahenpita police until December 7th.

The OIC was arrested on Friday last week on charges of having accepted 2.5 million rupees to cover up a criminal charge through forged documents.

Lawyers who appeared on behalf of the suspect informed Court that the OIC should be arrested first as their client had only followed the instructions of his superior to collect the bribe.

However lawyers who appeared on behalf of the Bribery Commission stated that an investigation is being carried out and it would be announced during the next court date whether the Narahenpita OIC will be arrested.
