The trade union of the Nursing sector, Para Medics and Supplementary health workers are preparing to launch an island wide token strike on the 15th of this month.
The strike will be staged against slashing government servants’ salaries and failing to add the 10 thousand rupee allowance to the basic salary through the budget 2016.
Convener of the Joint Federation of Nurses, Para Medics and Supplementary health workers unions Saman Rathnapriya stated during a media conference held in Colombo this morning that members of 15 trade unions would join the proposed token strike.
The Private Bus Association states that it would stage an island wide strike on 15th of this month against the potential negative impact of the budget 2016.
Association President Gemunu Wijerathna said that unprecedented fees for revenue license, emission assessment and valuation have been introduced by the budget.
General Secretary of the Federation of All Ceylon Bus Owners Association Anjana Priyanjith also expressed his views during the media conference held in Colombo this morning.
