Murder suspect of Mahiyanganaya garment worker consumes poison

The suspect of the murder of a garment worker of Gemunupura in Mahiyanganaya has forcibly fed poison to a 15 year old girl before he himself consumed pesticide.

The 18-year old Ramya Vidarshani was allegedly raped and murdered by the suspect while she was returning home after work last Tuesday.

Meanwhile a police team has cordoned the suspect while he was hiding on the peak of the Senasungala rock at Attaketiyawa this afternoon.

Police Media Spokesman Office stated that the suspect had forcibly fed an under aged girl with poison first and took poison himself before police arrested him.

Later police have rushed the suspect and the underaged gild to Mahiyangana hospital for treatment.

The murder suspect has been identified a 20-year resident of Aluthketiyawa in Mahiyanganaya.  Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had captured the under aged girl in his hideout.
